The two days feature contextual lectures, renovation observation, hands-on learning opportunities and a sketch workshop to re-envision sections of Shomu-en. Participants will have the opportunity to re-envision some sections of the Shomu-en, Cheekwood’s Japanese Garden.

How is the intent of the original designer taken into account when renovating a garden? There are many examples where this has been ignored to the detriment of a renovation. Hear from panelists about how this has been done successfully.

This will be a hands-on workshop during which participants will learn to construct a bamboo fence.
